Just One Problem

I love the message of the book which is why I bought it to read to my two toddler grand daughters. They love it too. Now I know this next comment is going to cause some to think I'm nuts, but I could not give the book 5 stars for one reason. I do not want my grand daughters to learn to speak incorrectly like most of Americans do yet two pages contain the same error in grammar. "Me and my friends at school have fun..." is NOT something I want the girls to hear. It should be "My friends and I have fun..." Later we read, "Me and my mommy run in..." Sorry! This is not written by a 4 year old. There's no good reason to use poor grammar. Children say what they hear. I was disappointed. If you agree, I suggest you still buy the book but change these sentences with a pen and read them the correct way to your young ones.

I just found this book because I am a fan of Elycia's and noticed she has a new children's book. As a parent, I appreciate the message of this story, but more importantly, my children and their friends truly connect with the message as well. They are now saying No Biggy! whenever they feel frustrated and it has really helped. The theme of No Biggy applies to everyone, whether you're a four year old or a forty year old. This is a very special book that kids (and their parents will love), the illustrations are eye-catching and fun, and it's a perfect gift too.

I was 1st introduced to NLP through Anthony Robbins...I was amazed at the benefits that resulted in just one weekend! Wanting to know more, I entered into a 7 day NLP Practioner course...again fabulous! I picked up NLP Workbook For Dummies as a recommended read for a Master NLP training course I will be taking soon....I was surprised that a highly reputable school would recommend NLP For Dummies ...I obviously knew nothing about the quality of these books...whether you have a clear understanding of NLP, or just curious, and want to know more....this book is outstanding! The workbook is consise, clear,thought provoking, and most definatly a gift to anyone desiring personal growth! Cheers to Romilla and Kate! You have given the world an opportunity to easily learn, and use what many believe to be the most powerful tools in creating change today!

The authors have outdone themselves in writing an easy to read and follow book on NLP. It am an NLP Master Practitioner, and still refer to this book becasue it is clear, concise and easy to follow, not like some NLP books that are out in the stratosphere somewhere.

nlp workbook is an easy, fun, practical read book which will have you examine how you view the world. it gives strategies on how to rid yourself of negative thoughts, communicate in a positive manner and change your attitude about life. the book is full of worksheets and examples on how to fill them out. this is a book that requires you to do work! you are given options on how you view yourself, your identity, values and beliefs. you examine internal dialogue and cause and effects. overall a very enlightening read and compliments their nlp book Neuro-Linguistic Programming for Dummies. i would love to pursue nlp training and have coaches in my area because this is indeed life changing material.

About the Author
Randall Billingsley is a finance professor at Virginia Tech and an award-winning teacher at both the undergraduate and graduate level. His research, consulting, and teaching focus on equity valuation, risk management and derivatives-based strategies, and regulatory finance. He holds an M.S. in economics and a PhD in finance from Texas A&M. In 2006, he published a financial analysis book with the Wharton School. In addition, his research has been published in many professional journals, including the JOURNAL OF PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT, JOURNAL OF BANKING AND FINANCE, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL RESEARCH, and JOURNAL OF FUTURES MARKETS. He is the former vice president of the CFA Institute. At Virginia Tech he advises the Student-Managed Endowment for Educational Development, which manages an equity portfolio of about $5 million.

Lawrence J. Gitman is an emeritus professor of finance at San Diego State University. He received his BA from Purdue University, MBA from the University of Dayton, and PhD from the University of Cincinnati. A prolific author, Dr. Gitman has published more than 50 articles appearing in FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, the FINANCIAL REVIEW, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL PLANNING, JOURNAL OF RISK AND INSURANCE, FINANCIAL SERVICES REVIEW, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL RESEARCH, FINANCIAL PRACTICE AND EDUCATION, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL EDUCATION, and other scholarly publications.

Michael D. Joehnk is an emeritus professor of finance at Arizona State University. In addition to his academic appointments at ASU, Dr. Joehnk spent a year as a visiting professor of finance at the University of Otago in New Zealand. He received his BA and PhD degrees from the University of Arizona and his MBA from Arizona State University. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he served as a member of the Candidate Curriculum Committee and of the Council of Examiners of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts. He also served as a director of the Phoenix Society of Financial Analysts and as secretary-treasurer of the Western Finance Association and was elected to two terms as vice president of the Financial Management Association. Dr. Joehnk has authored or co-authored more than 50 articles, five popular books, and numerous monographs. In addition to co-authoring several books with Dr. Gitman, Dr. Joehnk wrote the highly successful paperback tradebook INVESTING FOR SAFETY'S SAKE. He also has served as editor and contributed to several other prominent books. His articles have appeared in FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, JOURNAL OF FINANCE, JOURNAL OF BANK RESEARCH, JOURNAL OF PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT, JOURNAL OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL AND QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS, AAII JOURNAL, JOURNAL OF FINANCIAL RESEARCH, BELL JOURNAL OF ECONOMICS, DAILY BOND BUYER, FINANCIAL PLANNER, and other publications. Mr. Gregory's stories on nearly 700 rock and pop songs are funny and poignant, but their greatest value is uncovering the first little spark that lands in a songwriter's head. Sometimes it's as simple as overhearing a random remark made by somebody. I also liked the tensions and creativity "Making Music" describe between musicians and engineers during recording sessions. And who knew that a flight attendant going from London to the U.S. helped the Beatles invade America?

I joined Facebook about a month ago. One of the groups I joined was A Celebration of 60's music. Shortly, I received a friend request from someone in that group named John Gregory. I didn't know him, but asked him about himself. He explained he wrote this book about rock songs. That got my attention since I really like anything about 60's and 70's rock trivia. I confirmed him as a friend and immediately bought the book. Amazing! There are 690 stories about how songs came to be. There is trivia about every singing group. I haven't read them all yet and only put the book down long enough to let every rock and roll trivia nut like me know that this book is a must have in your collection.

More than just how the words in a song came to be is a theme running throughout that all the musicians of the time were connected to each other in one way or another. You begin to see how black musicians and singers of the time began to break the color barrier by creating great lyrics and melodies that everyone wanted to dance to. Did you know that Chubby Checker had the first song that people didn't need to touch each other to dance? This is a great rock trivia book. Making Music: Unique Ways Songs Became Hits

Making Sense of Making Music

I ordered this book due to my love of 60's / 70's era rock music. It is a terrific source for the music lover, or for those who enjoy trivia. I refer to it as my " go to source " for questions I might have regarding a recording artist or the song itself. It's an easy read, often engrossing and almost always entertaining, as well as informative. Gregory has written a book for the music lover and it's a great read - not overburdened with minute details, but yet gives the reader a terrific look inside the music and the men and women who put words and music together, as well as the logic or reason behind the music. The book moves along with a nice pace and you aren't bogged down. I hope Mr. Gregory will follow this one up. I consider it an indispensible resource for the music lover.
